India vs West Indies Test match series started yesterday in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. As the match starts, India lost the opener Murali Vijay early and Shikhar Dhawan lead the recovery with Cheteshwar Pujara. Initially Pujara was solid looking until Bishoo’s first over starts. Pujara’s departure made way for Virat Kohli who changed the course of the game. India’s Test captain injected urgency and put on brisk hundred runs with Dhawan for the third wicket. The duo were taking the game away from the opposition before Dhawan fell for 84 at the stroke of Tea.
R Ashwin was a surprise promotion at no.6 position and he joined with Kohli to safely see off the remaining period of the day. Virat Kohli achieved his 12th Test hundred, 5th as Test captain, and also entered the 3000-run Test club. At the End of Day 1, India scored 302/4 against West Indies in the first Test in Antigua. A good total under their belt, India would now like to see off the morning session, where West Indies are expected to take the second new ball, and push the score over the 400-run mark.
We will keep you posted on India – West Indies Day 2. Stay tuned.
